Evaluation of the pancreas

CT-Scan is the modality of choice to evaluate pancreatitis and its complications, to search for suspected pancreatic tumor during an endocrine disorder, or biliary obstruction or the clinical context. Computed tomography allows the evaluation of the parenchyma, adjacent vascular structures and lymphadenopathy. Magnetic resonance / MRCP is useful in the detection of small lesions (such as neuroendocrine small lesions) or to further characterize some cystic tumor lesions. The visualization of the pancreatic duct is better than CT-Scan, which is particularly useful in some cases of cystic mucinous neoplasm including intraductal neoplasm.
