The pathologies of the knee, especially degenerative osteoarthritis are increasing, especially in patients more and more younger often obese, or following knee injuries that cause meniscal tears, ligament, cartilage or bone lesions, frequently multiple. After X-rays, MRI is the modality of choice for the study of the knee. The contribution of ultrasound is very limited for the evaluation of intra-articular structures and will only be useful for targeted assessment of tendons (quadriceps, semimembranosus, biceps femoris ,”the goosefoot “), patella or periarticular masses.
